Hell and Damnation #11: "The second vinyl offering from Finland's VK. The debut was a fuckin' classic - total Terveet Kädet worship! This time the style subsides into a more Mellakka coctail of Storming finnish hardcore with a slicing of old brasilian type of rough edgeness. Still got that classic suomi '82 sound but there's something different reaking out of the woodworks which gives VK their very own identity. Really killer thrash with a twist - gotta love 'em. Nailbiter are three brasilian punks located in London, and they start their ride with a short instrumental dittie before jumping into some blazing crustified swedish influenced thrash. Really charging full-throttle hardcore ala 'Absolut Country' era Anti-Cimex. Carlos can really reak havoc on the guitars with the odd solo outburst without overdosing on metal wanking. Nailbiter are a awesome new band to watch out for!"

Slug & Lettuce # 72: "Holy shit, VK are back with a new release! Their 1st ep was nothing less than Finnish hardcore perfection and this one continues the assault beautifully! Their songs are a bit faster here, but still hold together with the same early Terveet Kädet styled power. Truly awesome! And quite possibly the best thing about this release is the great pair up with Nailbiter, who consist of a a few Brazilian punks (ex-LIXO members) which moved to London (UK) and started kicking out Cimex styled jams. Of course they sound unmistakably Brazilian as well, but I swear there are bits of "Scandinavian Jawbreaker" riffs going in and out of these songs... the brilliance! If you're going to indifferently pass this one by then please turn in your studded jacket on the way out..." -Jay H.

Profane Existence #40: "This is a good record. VIIMEINEN KOLONNA side is great 80' style hardcore. Don't quote me but I believe there is ex-Tampere SS members in this band. NAILBITER side is also good. Great intro's into some very fast hardcore. Maybe something like Extreme Noise Terror too describe them. Lyrics for both in English. (josh)"

Toinen Vaihtoehto # 148: "Etelän vetelät kohtaavat toisia veteliä ei-niin-vetelissä merkeissä.Hesalainen TV:stä tuttu VK paiskoo sellaista sanotaan nyt sitten perinteistä vauhtikoree. 5 biisiä tulee tiukasti paahtaen, väliin ehtii jopa pientä kitaranzooloakin, mutta yleisesti ottaen kyyti on hurja. Yksikään biisi ei hidastele, homma on hanskassa papukaijamerkillä. Soundi on mennyt hieman tukkoon kaiverruksessa, mutta rytmi kuuluu ja kaik pys kas. Brasilialainen (tosin enklannissa asusteleva) Nailbiter taas heittää raskaammalla soundilla tuota hooceetaan. Omalla puolellaan on vain 2 pitkähköä biisiä, ja mieleen tulee joku japsisoundi, jossa on yhtä lailla Motörheadia ja D-biittiä, miksikä tuota nyt sitten sanotaan (Vitustakos näistä tietää...). Kumpikaan ei tarjoa mitään uutta, mutta alansa tyylipuhtaus, raivo et räkä, sekä tinkimätön linja varmistavat varman toimivuuden levylautasellasi, jos a) omistat moisen vermeen ja/tai b) pidät piikkisikarokista. Ruptured Ambitions: I first encountered Brazilian London-based 3-piece NAILBITER at a DISORDER gig in Tottenham and was fair blowed away, Olive! They have that same big-sounded appeal to me (oft breakneck, lapsing into slow & doomy) which you also gets with KURU, DREAD MESSIAH, THE RESTARTS and DISSOBER… Awesome, load & rumbling - 2 tracks. VIIMEINEN KOLONNA are, as the handle suggests, yet another band from Finland (why Finnish punks want to come to the UK is anyone's guess… it seems like every other person there is a punk… hmm, maybe that's why). What you gets are 5 stormers of a shorter, faster flavour; kinda POISON IDEA played by HIATUS. Yeah, I like that. 'Translations suck - learn Finnish' - I like that too.
