MAXIMUMROCK'N'ROLL#256: "This Finnish band has been around for years but this is the first
time I've ever heard them, and I must say I'm impressed. They make me
think of a faster harder (fellow Scandinavians) DRUNK and LIFE...BUT HOW
TO LIVE IT? Great high-tempo hardcore punk, melodic yet interesting, it
even brings to mind RUDIMENTARY PENI (from whom they may have or may not
have gotten their name) at times. Good political lyrics, male and female
(I think) vocals and enough hooks to keep it afloat - this is good shit.

SLUG&LETTUCE#80: "This Finnish punk band has for years been
underappreciated internationally it seems to be. I
never hear anyone talk about them, and yet each time I
hear a new release I think it's awesome. This time
around, they sound a lot different - throwing in a 80s
new wave simplicity to the sound, and the lead female
vocals are complemented with 2 back up vocals, which
all layer together uniquely and there is a
high-pitched voice that is snotty and unique and
reminds me of something like Gand Four. The vocals
here are really a stand out and large part of their
sound, but musically this is new wave like, but then
again they've got just as much punch and drive as you
need to rock it forward and keep you on your toes.
Catchy punk rock, indeed with a unique twist that
really makes this stand out.

TOINEN VAIHTOEHTO#174: "I heard this record
(always different songs) few separate times in varied cities and countries
and didn´t quite know what the hell is this band playing in the
stereos. Every time I was really surprised; what on earth? What is this
band? Well, then it was Juggling Jugulars, of course. Cool.
During the old days there were always some records that were seen afterwards
as essential and strongly influencial to other bands´ music, attitudes
and so on... Those records were seen as milestones afterwards. I have
nothing against if this record would be seen as such in the 21st century´s
Finland - and why not wider as well. Too bad, but I guess that is not
in my hands. Besides that the songs are properly thought from the start
to end, played tight and works really well - they are simply damn good
and catchy, too. The sound is very clear and good and works well. They
say things in the songs - real things - and they have thought them out
well. Sometimes I feel that nobody´s cares about nothing at all,
but luckily that has been proved wrong once again. I must admit that I
have thought exactly same things but couldn´t just put the ideas
out lyrically as a whole. A band that is able to improve their stuff still
after 15 years of existence is a really rare, not only in Finland, but
in the world as well. It just proves that you can keep your style and
think. There´s no need to put out just "something", you
don´t have to make things "with the other hand". For example
"I Refuse!" is a song that rises hairs in my both hands. Fucking
cool! It doesn´t happen that often.
The more records you hear, the more rare are the records that really inspires
you. Luckily there are some! There has always been melody in the Juggling
Jugulars´ music but the term "melodic" doesn´t make
justice to this band. In my ears term "melodic" sounds boring
and this is not boring. It can´t be very bad when names like Rudimentary
Peni (check out songs 4 and 14), early Naked Aggression (song 9) or early
italian hc (11) comes to your mind. This is real punk in 2004. Check and
listen by yourselves. (m.)"
DESIBELI.NET: "Kolmatta vuosikymmentään käyvä Juggling Jugulars edustaa kotimaisen hooceepunkin sitkeintä reunaa. Jo vuonna 1989 käynnistelty yhtye toimii nykyään viiden hengen kokoonpanolla, jossa esiin nousee laulaja Arjan tiukka ulosanti, melodioiden runsas ja toimiva käyttö sekä armoa pyytelemättömän tiukan paahdon poliittinen asenteellisuus. Jugulars haastaa kuulijaa vastuun, huolenpidon ja vastarinnan pariin. Room For Responsibility tarkastelee osuvasti ja ylpeänä vanhenevan punkkarin ja ”parempi palaa kuin kuihtua” –mielikuvan kohtaamista, Afterthought kiroaa, kun ei koskaan keksi osuvaa vastinetta meuhkaaville junteille kuin vasta jälkikäteen eikä asepalvelukseen juuri I Refuse!:a selkeämpää mielipidettä taida laulun muodossa löytyä. Viiden eri kaupungin osoitteisiin jakautuva yhtye sai 14 kappaleen albuminsa valmiiksi jo maaliskuussa, mutta näin puolen vuoden viiveellä tuntuu ettei albumista paljoa ole tuoreutta kadonnut. Ainakin samojen aihepiirien keskuudessa pyöritään maailmassa edelleen...
Edellämainittujen kappaleiden lisäksi mahtipontinen akustinen raita Windmills With Broken Wings, luokkaeroja tarkasteleva tiukka Neo-Class Division sekä Eurooppalaista ”kulttuuriperintöä” synkeällä kritiikillä arvosteleva European Pigs nousevat meikäläisen korvaan. Sen suurempia kritiikin aiheita levystä on vaikea nostaa, onhan kyseessä kuitenkin punk – siis menevyyttä, rosoisuutta sekä tiukkaa ja asenteellista paahtoa, joita kaikkia löytyy Nothing’s Finishediltä. Ehkei levy mitenkään maailmaa muuttava musiikillisesti ole, mutta ainakin kotimaan tarjonnassa parasta A-ryhmää... ja siihen A:han tietysti se repaleinen ympyrä mukaan." (Ilkka Valpasvuo) (4.5/5)

MAGAZIN#15: „Yeah, dieses Album macht ja richtig Laune! Da haben
sich die schwer routinierten finnischen Aushängeschild-Punker mal
wieder wirklich ins Zeug gelegt und ein rundum gelungenes Album abgeliefert.
So frisch, wie das hier klingt, möchte man gar nicht glauben, dass
die Band bereits seit über zwölf Jahren diverse europäische
Bars, Kneipen und Jugendzentren mit ihrem typischen, stets nach vorne
drängenden, von Hardcore beeinflussten High-Speed-Punk beschallt.
Mit ein Grund für dieses kleine Phänomen dürfte auch die
Frischzellenkur in Form der seit zwei Jahren zum Bandinventar gehörenden
Sängerin Arja sein, welche gekonnt und in bester Punk-Frontfrau-Tradition
die größtenteils sozialkritischen und politischen Texte ins
Mikro rotzt, wobei sie von zwei männlichen Backgroundsängern
unterstützt wird. Das Mädel scheint wirklich wütend zu
sein, und das lässt sie den geneigten Hörer auch deutlich spüren.
Die Songs sind treibend, energiegeladen, bringen auf den Punkt und polieren
schon mal gerne die eine oder andere Fresse – die ideale Soundtrack,
um auf einer Betriebsfeier den Chef anzuspucken, eine Tankstelle in die
Luft zu jagen oder in einem Fastfood-Restaurant einen Haufen auf den Tisch
zu setzen…“

Außer Wasted die einzige Band aus Finnland, die es schafft sich
mit flottem, melodiösem Punk in mein Herz zu spielen.
80er Jahre Punkrock, hier und dort ein bisschen Hardcore, das besondere
sind aber eher Attitüde und Texte, die der Band das Testat Klassiker
verschaffen. 14 Lieder mit weiblichem Gesang und 2 Background Sängern..."
