laitoin pyörimään, itse tarinan lisäksi tässä on upeita paikallishistoria/-tieto knoppeja välissä
I've found these two old cassettes in a storage cabinet alongside several - regretfully, official (read: not taken by the school staff themselves), published by the Finnish Education services - positive 35mm slides in the now-defunct school of Paisua. The cassette inlays are both hand-painted/drawn and the title list is also handwritten.
This "radio play" seems to have been completely forgotten in Sonkajärvi. No Google hits and, in the Facebook group of the municipality, noone could remember it, at least by the name / the cassette inlays. I'm really glad I found and saved/published such a unique and long-forgotten cultural treasure![]()
There is a longer "radio play" on side B of the Sony cassette, "Grandfather Moped's Puzzle/Mystery" ("Pappamopon arvoitus"), which gave both cassettes their names. This is what my entire video starts with.
Of special note is a guest, miller Mikko Mustonen himself, starting at 14:00.
Side A (no title at all) contains something different. Note: the 2nd half of this side was recorded quite far away from the speakers. I applied very strng amplification but not even that helped - their speech is pretty much illegible. I nevertheless kept this part too for historic purposes.
Finally, there's a RAKS HD-X II cassette. This, along with some kind of a theater play by children, also has some stuff; most importantly, info on the school of Savonvirta. Note: this type of cassette was manufactured in 1988-89 (see http://vintagecassettes.com/raks/raks... )
Equipment used:
1, the extremely high quality (and accordingly VERY-VERY expensive) cassette player Sony WM-D6C Walkman Professional (Google for it! You'll definitely be astonished!) to have as good a player as possible, using its line out
2, a Boss Micro BR Digital Recorder (another high-quality item), Line in-connection.
