I recently received a record that was listed as VG+ but Side One was obviously not VG+ - "rice krispies" throughout the whole side. I contacted the seller and his response was that I could a) return the record for a refund (which makes me pay for postage) or b) destroy the record and jacket and send the seller a photo of the destroyed items as proof, and then he would send the refund. My first reaction is an aversion to destroying a record but I realize that this saves postage fees and then the seller doesn't have to deal with a returned defective record. My question is: Is this (destroying a record for a refund) a common practice? It's the first time I've dealt with this, but maybe this happens here at Discogs and I'm just not acquainted with this protocol. https://www.discogs.com/forum/thread/747888

Tää ei oo nyt ihan sama asia, mut 90-luvulla tsekkiläinen GZ prässäsi Can Can Heads/Warser Gate -splittiseiskan vituralleen, levyssä oli hirveet napsut. Levyn julkaisija Boing Being reklamoi tietty ja vaati uuden painoksen, mihin GZ suostui jos tuhoaisimme viallisen painoksen ja toimittaisimme heille todisteen tuhoamisesta. Heleppo homma! Tarvittiin hieman virvokkeita, apuvälineitä, muutama kaveri sekä kaunis kesäilta, ja kas, levyt oli tuhottu ja tuhoaminen tallennettu videokameralla ja koostettu musiikkivideoksi, jonka lähetimme Tsekkeihin VHS-kasetilla. Uusi painos saapui muutaman viikon kuluttua.
