https://www.reddit.com/r/Bumble/comment ... _know_yet/Why are you listed “Don’t Know Yet?”
Bumble doesn’t give much option for listing your preferences in a relationship. We can be negative about that later, right now I want to focus on the elephant in the room.
“Don’t Know Yet” makes absolutely no sense as a modifier on a dating app. There is no use case I can think of where I’d think it made sense. We all know why we are here. I would assume (and the app experience I have tends to confirm) most of us are looking for a relationship. Some people aren’t, and that’s okay too. But exactly no one on the app should have no idea what they are doing there. You didn’t stumble upon this, download on your phone, and make a profile for no reason.
There are multiple actual reasons I could see people putting this down, and if any of these are you, just hit that updoot and know I won’t be matching with you.
Here’s what I’ve got:
You know full well what you’re looking for, and it’s a hookup with an absolute dream guy/girl. First, they don’t exist, stop looking. Second, if they did exist, and wanted to hook up with you, why would they do so with you having a “don’t know lol” in your profile? Show some initiative, it’s sexy. There’s a “Something Casual” option for a reason! Set it on, and use the sorting system to find your wonderful Prince Charming!
You don’t like the other options. Yes, the options on Bumble suck. You’re right. But if you don’t want a relationship, and don’t want marriage... you’re looking for something casual! So set yourself there. Picking “Don’t Know Yet” makes it look like you’re simply indecisive.
You’re actually indecisive and could go either way on a “relationship” or “something casual.” The good news is, Bumble has a sorting system! You can factor out people who are looking for marriage and only look at people that are looking for a what you want! You don’t have to pretend you have no preferences at all, you can list either of the ones you’re torn between and match with people in the other category!
You’re looking for friends. I have absolutely no patience with you. Get off the platform. Bumble has a dedicated, curated, non-sexual “Friends” choice when you create an account. You decided you wanted to get on the relationship setting. You are actively leading people on with your account. If I see you, I’ll report you.
And that’s all I’ve got. Are you not here? Please let me know below. Happy swiping, I hope you all find whatever it is you’re afraid of looking for someday!
