In a preprint posted online Thursday night, researchers at Google in collaboration with physicists at Stanford, Princeton and other universities say that they have used Google’s quantum computer to demonstrate a genuine “time crystal.” In addition, a separate research group claimed earlier this month to have created a time crystal in a diamond.
A novel phase of matter that physicists have strived to realize for many years, a time crystal is an object whose parts move in a regular, repeating cycle, sustaining this constant change without burning any energy.
“The consequence is amazing: You evade the second law of thermodynamics,” said Roderich Moessner, director of the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden, Germany, and a co-author on the Google paper. That’s the law that says disorder always increases.

Ahaa, hyvä. Tämä ei ollut täällä vielä. Olen kuullut sanottavan aiemminkin että ei-binäärisiä sukupuolia tunnustavia kulttuureja on. En ole kuitenkaan nähnyt muistaakseni näin lähelle osuvaa esimerkkiä.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/ ... AkKNzWztfA1,000-year-old remains in Finland may be non-binary iron age leader
DNA suggests body buried in feminine attire with swords had Klinefelter syndrome, researchers say
Modern analysis of a 1,000-year-old grave in Finland challenges long-held beliefs about gender roles in ancient societies, and may suggest non-binary people were not only accepted but respected members of their communities, researchers have said.
According to a peer-reviewed study in the European Journal of Archaeology, DNA analysis of remains in a late iron age grave at Suontaka Vesitorninmäki in Hattula, southern Finland, may have belonged to a high-status non-binary person.
First discovered in 1968 during building work, the grave contained jewellery in the form of oval brooches as well as fragments of woollen clothing suggesting the dead person was dressed in “a typical feminine costume of the era”, the researchers said.
But unusually, the grave also held a hiltless sword placed on the person’s left side, with another sword, probably deposited at a later date, buried above the original grave – accoutrements more often associated with masculinity.

VTT tuotti kahvia kasvisoluista – kotikeittiössä voi pöristä tulevaisuudessa oma bioreaktori
VTT:ssä tutkitaan mahdollisuuksia tuottaa ruokaa laboratoriossa.

https://www.economist.com/science-and-t ... n/21805361Some may think that 30% efficacy is not much. But in parts of sub-Saharan Africa children contract malaria six times a year on average. Each year more than 260,000 African children die of it before their fifth birthdays. Those who survive often suffer lifelong harm, including stunting, a form of impaired growth that affects the ability to learn. The impact of rts,s will thus be huge.

Niitä on 15 vierekkäin siellä ilmeisesti:

What goes good at the top of a flight of stairs?
A table with a drawer in it, right? That make you yee-hah?
Makes me yee-hah anyways.
A lady could keep her valuables in it.
Maybe a bible, maybe a gun.

“Fifteen new candidates with low rates of dipping, referred to as “slow dippers”, have been identified,” writes C astronomer Edward Schmidt. “The dippers occupy a limited region of the HR diagram (star chart) and an apparent clustering in space is found. This latter feature suggests that these stars are attractive targets for SETI searches.”
