Onkohan Trump ja tämän tonttu-ukot ajatelleet asian siten, että osavaltiot ottavat maksaakseen nämä projektit kun liittovaltion rahoitus vedetään nollaan. Trump voi sitten hehkuttaa viherhippien kyykyttämistä ja joku muu on joutunut tahraamaan kätensä ympäristön pelastamisessa.

Yhdysvaltain 44. presidentti Barack Obama palasi äskettäin pitkältä ja rentouttavalta lomalta miljardööri Richard Bransonin lomasaarelta Karibianmereltä. Nyt 55-vuotias ex-presidentti on palaamassa takaisin politiikan parrasvaloihin presidentti Donald Trumpin harmiksi.

- Hän (Obama) on tulossa. Hän on tulossa, ja hän on valmiina painamaan kaasua, Obaman hyvä ystävä ja entinen oikeusministeri Eric Holder sanoi Politico-lehdelle.

Holderin mukaan hän on keskustellut Obaman kanssa tavoista, miten ex-presidentti voisi auttaa demokraattipuolueen uuden National Democratic Redisticting Committeen NDRC:n työtä.

Tällä hetkellä sekä edustajainhuone että senaatti ovat republikaanien hallussa. Tavallista on kuitenkin, että välivaaleissa valtatasapaino muuttuu. NDRC:n tarkoitus onkin saada demokraateille vahvempi asema kumpaankin huoneeseen seuraavissa välivaaleissa vuonna 2018.

Homma ei välttämättä vaikuta perin hohdokkaalta, mutta sillä on suuri strateginen merkitys, ja Obamalla aivan erityinen merkitys äänestäjien houkuttelemisessa demokraattipuolueen kannattajiksi.

Tämän lisäksi Obama on luvannut olla mukana etsimässä ja mentoroimassa demokraattipuolueelle uutta karismaattista johtajaa. Hillary Clintonista ei enää puhuta vaan puolue tarvitsee uuden tähden, jotta se voisi voittaa Valkoisen talon isännyyden seuraavissa vaaleissa.

Lisäksi Obamat kirjoittavat muistelmiaan, joista he nettoavat 60 miljoonaa dollaria. Kirjan kirjoittamisen ohella Obamalla on aikaa muotoilla Trumpin vastaista oppositiopolitiikkaa ja hätätapauksessa jopa ohjailla sitä.
