Not trying to stick to some convulted concept seems to have released them as well, making most of what they do hear sound genuinely necessary. Alongside Gallow God's debut this will be one of the best doom releases of 2013 come the end of the year, 4.5/5 (Jukebox Metal)

I really liked "Pulvis Et Umbra",it is a pretty good Doom record with great bass lines (...) I would recommend for people that like Doom Metal to check this band out, 8/10 (metal-temple.com)

Whilst not the most melodic of vocalists, he still manages to bring a bit of depth to the music. He also sometimes uses Black Metal-style vocals and Death Metal grunts (...) everything is done well enough to quench the thirst of any Trad' fan in need of a new dose of lead-heavy riffs. Due to the Masters of Reality cancellation and the comeback of Witchcraft (we're so happy for that) the running orders of Hellfest Open Air Festival changed and SURTR will perform at 11:40AM instead of 10:30AM still on June 22nd at The Valley stage !
