Profane Existence #40: "Raging anarcho-punk from Finland that evokes both a classic 80's feel of bands like "Increase the Pressure" era Conflict and more modern sounds of present day Sin Dios. Hell and Damnation #11: "This band is totally amazing - no shit! So far they have released a couple of CD-roms and a few comp trax and this is a collection of all those releases. You'd actually think that this was a new LP (well it is in a way) as all the songs sound as thought thay were recorded at the same session as all the trax blend in as one full-lenghther. The first track 'Paattyy Paiva Porvarin' get's off to a brilliant start and from then on this LP is just pure class! Selkkaus are an, as it says here: "vegan-terror-hardcore-class-war-punk" band from Turku, Finland, and I've gotta say I can hear a lot of the old classic fincore bands ala Kaaos, Terveet Kädet and the like. But this is different to the extent that these play some of the most catchy ragin' hardcorepunk ever. Damn it - I fuckin love everything about this killer band; their attitude (translated lyrics - inspirationel as fuck), musicianship etc... You've just gotta pick this up - one of the finest political punk band of our time! The overall intensity will have you foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog. There's no doubt about it - especially coming from Finland!!"

Slug & Lettuce # 72: "I reviewed their CDr(s) an issue or so back, but it's especially great to see this LP available now. This contains an assortment of tracks from all their CDr releases and splits, which is nice to see put on vinyl and of course collected together for listening ease! As described previously, Selkkaus play catchy Finnish hardcore with a wide variety of influences coming together all at once and are self-described as "angry class war punk". Gotta love it! Toinen Vaihtoehto # 149: "Kokoelma jo julkaistuja luokkasodasta kertovia ja siihen yllyttäviä biisejä ensi kerran vinyylillä, hieno juttu. Aikaisemmin näitä biisejä on julkaistu useallakin CDR-julkaisulla. On se kyllä paljon mukavampaa pitää kädessään kunnon levyä kuin CDR:ää, kyllä se vaan niin on. Tämä onkin erityisen mukavaa pitää kädessä, koska kansitaide on aika onnistunut. Löytyy kaksiväripainatusta ja erittäin osuvaa taidetta muutenkin. Niistä yleensä levyt saavat kyllä pisteitä. Harvoin väkivaltainen luokkasota on tuntunut niin äärettömän hienolta idealta kuin sen jälkeen, kun on kuunnellut tämän levyn läpi. Minä olin ainakin välittömästi valmis barrikadeille. Koska lähdetään??? Tarttuvia kertosäkeitä ja punkrockia ja samaan aikaan hirmuisaa paatosta, vakavaa asiaa ja pilkettä silmäkulmassa. Onhan se hämmentävä yhdistelmä kelle tahansa. Toimii hyvin myös ikäänkuin best of -kokoelmana, mukana kun on kaikki hitit tyyliin "Ylös, ulos, kapina", "Kytätntappaja" ja "Nihilisti". Ja siitä se lähtee: El pueblo unido... (.m.)"

www.austrinken.com: "Ich mag SELKKAUS eigentlich wirklich sehr gerne leiden und nicht umsonst habe ich mir ihre drei vollen CDs (�Ylös, ulos, kapina" [von '98], �Kapitalismi ja skitsofrenia" ['99] und �Tarkkailla ja rangaista" ['01]) gezogen, aber das war dir bestimmt auch so klar, denn wenn ich SELKKAUS für scheiße befunden hätte, hätte ich ansonsten den Werdegang der Band bereits nach ihrer ersten Platte nicht mehr weiter verfolgt. Naja, eigentlich lohnt sich dieser Output nicht ssooo sehr für diejenigen unter euch, welche die drei CDs haben, denn sechzehn der insgesamt neunzehn Lieder stammen eben von diesen drei Scherben. Zwei Songs kommen dann noch von einer mir völlig unbekannten Split CD w/ STEWART HOME und ein Stück scheint unveröffentlicht zu sein, wobei ich jetzt echt nicht den Nerv habe das nachzuprüfen. Okay, mal zur Mucke an sich: SELKKAUS spielen eigentlich nichts anderes als mehr oder weniger traditionellen finnischen Hardcorepunk mit entsprechendem Shouting, wobei dieses Quartett aus Turku sowas von abwechslungsreich zur Tat schreitet, daß sie niemals auch nur ansatzweise langweilig werden. Ein Teil der Lieder sind halt straighter, schnellerer, melodischer Hardcorepunk like KOHU-63 oder späte APPENDIX und andere Tracks wiederum im leicht schrägen DEAD KENNEDYS �Frankenchrist"-Stil und wenn man das Ganze auf die Länge dieser zwei Rillen betrachtet rocken SELKKAUS schon ordentlich drauf los. Als Fazit würde ich mal schreiben, daß in diesen Breitengraden eigentlich kaum jemand die originalen CDs, die in einer Kleinstauflage erschienen sind, haben dürfte � von daher kann ich die �Luokkataistelu � teoria & käytäntö" LP eigentlich bedenkenlos empfehlen!!"
